'69 Vikes!  What a year, What a team, What a coach, What a defense, What a QB - but sadly, what a downer on 1/11/1970 - ugh!

End of the game. Everyone exhausted and hurting. A team up by twenty point so there's no chance of an upset. Two victory formations and the players can go home (80% of the fans already have).   But he wants these guys to continue to beat on each other because of his  "one yard or stop the clock" rule,  or the last two minutes will last an hour. Like pre-season games this will only get good players hurt and for nothing.

Bud Grant is the true face of the franchise and what a sharp mind!  I liked both of the rules ideas they discussed, especially making the end of the game count for something.  The "Victory" formation is the equivalent to the old North Carolina "four corners" offense -- the epitome of boredom.

Great to hear from Bud Grant. I'm always curious what the all time greats have to say.

Bud Grant is the MAN!  Thought all his ideas were good.  To expand on his extra point idea, I think allow a team to go for two from the 2.5 (or 5) yard line if they want or if they choose to kick an extra point, make them snap from the 20 (equivalent to a 38 yard field goal).  You could even say the extra point is worth 1 if they snap from the 20, but add another point for every 10 yards further back they move it (2 points for snapping from the 30, 3 from the 40, etc.)
