Nobody is having a better year in the NFL than the Seattle Seahawks.  Their offense is well-balanced between the run and the pass, which is indicative if superior offensive line play.  Their offensive line coach, and Assistant Head Coach, is Tom Cable and he's not on the list.  If he was black, he'd be at the top of the list.

How's that for reverse discrimination?

For the life of me, why do so many people read Peter and his work if they don't like it?  Do these people watch TV shows they don't like?  Eat foods for dinner each night they don't like?  Go to a church each Sunday they aren't happy with?

Guess what folks?  We're free in this country.  IF you don't like or care for his articles, don't read them.  I'm a conservative Republican and we all know Peter is liberal.  I still like and read his articles.

unfortunately, the NFL has felt compelled, kinda like our government, to decide what is best for us and mandate it by fiat! And Peter, you are ridiculously inept when it comes to reporting. This was an embarrassment to whom? And whom decides if it was an embarrassment?  So glad you decided that you were part of the problem when it comes to baseball! Add football to the list!!

Was it really an "embarrassment"?  Use hyperbole much do ya?

Coming next week, the top 10 white tailbacks that each team should draft first.

After that the 10 best white cornerbacks that should be drafted first.

Followed by the 10 best black place kickers that should be signed first.

Then, the 10 best black sportswriters that should replace existing writers at SI.com and MMQB

Karl Dorrell?  He was a washout as a college coach and has been nondescript as an assistant coach over a horrible Houston offense.  Guess there were "other" unknown factors that made him a quality candidate?

Same goes for Hue Jackson.  He was mediocre as Raiders coach and completely untrustworthy as a talent evaluator and administrator.  Why is he a good candidate again?

Is the nfl also pushing teams to draft white guys in the draft, since white guys are the minority in the nfl?

Off topic, but if a punter is considered a "defenseless player" "throughout the play" as an NFL suit said today, then he should have to get off the damn field as soon as the ball leaves his foot.

Peter King shame on YOU citing the committees' picks of  "minority coaches." Prime example of how you feed into the racial divide in this country. Not to mention YOU won't write the word "Redskins" in your articles because it's deemed offensive to people. Where have these protesters been for the last 30 years??? These issues have come to light as a result of YOU and the MEDIA blowing things out of proportion. Similar to this "Happy Holidays" nonsense, please grow up. I wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Lame. Thought this was a panel for best coaching candidates. Not best non-white candidates.

David Shaw (Stanford) not on the list?!  GOOD!

@Phroggo  It's not reverse discrimination, it's just a plain stupid idea that you think Cable should be a candidate at all.  Why would he even be on the list? Tom Cable failed miserably as the Raiders head coach, 17-27 over 2.5 seasons.

@pastord24   some good points.  yes, the govt does decide for us.  sadly, over many yrs, we the people have sat back on the sidelines and allowed the govt to grow and take over more and more things.

far too many people are happy when they have their little share, a home, a nice pickup truck, kids in school, go hunting, play softball, play cards with the guys, drink beer or go shopping, meet up with their friends and play bunco, have a few bucks to go out to dinner, to the movies etc...

when that happens, people sadly don't really care when "bad" things happen.  IF it does NOT affect them, they don't get upset or anxious about it.

sadly, what they fail to realize is that once this continues happening and it did over the past several decades with our governments (all levels so plural), it was only a matter of time until something happened that they did care about.

it's almost too late.  the govt is so large, so powerful that us "regular" citizens aren't able to accomplish much at all by ourselves and even with a few others.

the govt and big business have been joined at the hip for over 100 yrs.

people don't like to admit it or acknowledge it, but it was the people that capitulated and allowed the govt to do this to us.

@Mike26 He was given one season. Jackson went 8-8 in his first and only season. He was fired mainly because they had a new GM Reggie McKenzie and Reggie wanted his own guy. Who did McKenzie hire, Dennis Allen (white guy) who is 8-22 in his nearly two seasons career as head coach of the Raiders. Looks to me like McKenzie should have stuck with Hue Jackson for at least one more season.

@cowboyfan881971 Why would the NFL do that? 7 of 10 NFL highest paid players are white.... looks to me the "white guys" are getting taken care of just fine.

How do you know who the best candidates are if you only draw from one talent pool?

Bill Belichick's record with the Browns was 37 - 45 and, arguably, had more to work with than Cable did with that messed up franchise in Oakland.  It's a damn good thing wiser heads than yours prevailed and he got another chance.  Cable seems to be proving himself quite worthy with the Seahawks.
