Can't wait for Peter's explanation on how the Patriots aren't in the Superbowl this year.

Congrats to the Denver Broncos and their fans on a well-deserved win.I look forward to watching what will undoubtedly be an exciting Super Bowl XLVIII.

Despite tonight’s disappointing loss (from our perspective, that is), I am PROUD of how well the New England Patriots played this season, particularly in light of the season-ending injuries to key players, as well as the significant player turnover.

I expect New England will surprise everyone by coming out throwing more often to set up the run, and not vice versa.I also think the game’s outcome will turn largely on the play of the Patriots’ DEFENSE, which needs to step up big time on this big stage.Unlike Brady, Peyton has all of his offensive weapons.Belichick should therefore cut McDaniels and Brady loose to manage the offensive side of the ball, and turn his attention almost exclusively to the defensive side of the ball. The time-tested, proven method to thwart Peyton is to disrupt his TIMING.As with any fine-tuned engine, disrupt its timing and the engine will sputter. To do that, the Patriots defenders must play PHYSICAL, which includes pushing the line, jamming receivers/tight ends, proper tackling, and explosive (legal) hits by its secondary.COMMUNICATION within and EXECUTION by New England’s defense is, I think, the single most important key to a Patriots win.Like many others, I expect a high-scoring affair.Unlike many others, I don’t expect a close game.I see one of these teams securing a decisive, double-digit victory.

This could be the stupidest prediction ever, especially when everyone - *everyone* - knows that the Saints and Chiefs are going to fight it on in the Super Bowl.

Two preventable mistakes are what enabled The Patriots to win the earlier (home) game against the Broncos.  Now, with an offense that set records, the Broncos will lose to the Pats because all the Pats have to do is have B&B show up.  Just like when they were undefeated and playing in the Super Bowl against a Giants team they have previously beaten.  Peter King had them an overwhelming favorite, suggesting the game was a mere formality to crowing the "Best Team of All-Time"!  How did that work out?  And, since we are saying that B&B are near unbeatable, perhaps it is worth pointing out that the Pats have never won a Super Bowl without Adam Vinateri.  However, Vinateri has won 4 Super Bowls, the fourth with Peyton Manning.

i think peter king should venture into covering other sports because sometimes a little break can provide new and refreshed perspective

There's a shocker. Peter King stick to his New England roots and picks the team he worshipped all season. He's a joke of a commentator. His old editors would be ashamed of his bias.

@psychsports Shut up already about your stupid website. This isn't free ad space!

@psychsports Sorry Doc, while you may prove right (and I'll freely admit my Seahawk bias), guessing 6 of 8 isn't compelling when the only real surprises have been the Chargers winning (even though against the Bungles), Colts winning, and the Eagles making a real game of it (but still losing).

Besides, although SF is playing great and may win it (especially since Percy Harvin is out), SF hasn't beaten Seattle by more than one score anywhere (except Harbaugh's dreams) since September 2011, and hasn't won by more than a score at Qwest/Century Link since late 2006. Don't see tomorrow being a blow-out.

@Reedster2185 Dude, settle down. He picked two of the four teams left, all which are very good teams with a chance to win on Sunday. Go browse another site, I'm sure you'll find a talking head that makes picks to your liking. How's the weather in Denver?

@Rexal Parshapswich You mean, "(Peter's) old (retired) editors," right, RP?  I'd guess there's not an SVP today who's a day over 30, and the owners, privately, they don't even like sport.

@Rexal Parshapswich  So Pete picks a team all season that happens to be 1 game away from the SuperBowl...I imagine his pick is not all that wrong.

@Rexal ParshapswichSomeone call a wambulance for the Denver fans.  Peter King picked the Patriots.  How terribly bias and shamefull to suggest a team that beat the Broncos earlier this season and humiliated a Colts team that did the same could win the AFC championship.
